• Gary's Ride, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity founded by President Kristin Wiedenfeld in May 2022, after supporting her late husband Gary through a battle with glioblastoma.  Gary's love for cycling inspired the charity name and annual brain cancer bike ride.

• Glioblastoma is an aggressive, devastating disease than can strike anyone, including children and it's one of the most expensive and challenging cancers to deal with

​

• Our mission is to raise funds and hope for local brain cancer patients and their families, especially those with glioblastoma

​​

• We partner with Mercy One Richard Deming Cancer Center and Iowa Oncology Research Association to fund: clinical trials for future treatment options, supportive services such as massage, art and music therapy plus acupuncture and counseling services

​

• We also provide financial support to patients, in order to help ease the financial, emotional and physical burdens of brain cancer

​

• To date we've raised over $124,000 to help more than 360 primary diagnosis brain cancer patients, including 64 with glioblastoma

​

• With your support we can help more local Iowans facing the fight of their lives, by raising $65,000 during our next campaign!
